Program Description

The Midwifery program at BCU prepares compassionate individuals to provide comprehensive care and support to women and families throughout the childbirth process. Our program combines rigorous academic coursework with hands-on clinical experience to develop competent and empathetic midwives.

In our program, students learn about reproductive health, prenatal care, labor and delivery, postpartum care, newborn care, and family planning. They acquire skills in childbirth assistance, breastfeeding support, physical and emotional care, and health promotion. Our experienced faculty, including practicing midwives, guide students through interactive classes, simulations, and clinical rotations, fostering critical thinking, communication, and cultural sensitivity.

Clinical experiences form a significant component of our program. Students gain practical knowledge by working alongside midwives in various healthcare settings, such as birthing centers, hospitals, and community clinics. These experiences provide invaluable opportunities to develop clinical skills, build confidence, and cultivate a compassionate approach to midwifery care.
